UK Power Station Project for QSG

Quadrant Security Group (QSG) has been appointed to design and install a complex integrated security and safety system for a new power station currently under construction in the UK. The project also includes a two-year maintenance contract.

The new power station is scheduled for completion in the near future, following a three-year build phase. Due to the complexities of the site and the advanced state of works, the key challenge for QSG is to deliver the sophisticated installation within a highly challenging timeframe.

The project encompasses:
•    CCTV System
•    Perimeter Intrusion Detection System
•    Telephony and IP Data Systems
•    PA/GA
•    Electronic Access Control
•    Security Lighting
•    UHF Radio System
•    Security Management System
•    Intruder Detection

Iain Beadle, Managing Director, said: “Power stations are unique security environments with stringent requirements. We are well established in the power generation sector and understand its challenges. For example, we are one of very few companies qualified to deliver security projects for nuclear power stations. Our strength as a business is to handle these projects end-to-end – across consultation, design, specification, commissioning and maintenance.”

“We’ve got very strong high-security sector expertise in-house, as well as exacting project management capabilities. This means we can deliver a complex installation like this new project on time and to highest technical standards, securing a site that a million homes will rely on for their electricity supply every day.”
